• The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approved a license for Live! Philadelphia as the 13th casino in the state in November 2014. Lawsuites from Sugarhouse Casino and other casino bidders delayed construction until the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled the license was valid pending further Board investigation of the principal owner.

• Types of Casinos in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania There are three types of casinos in Philadelphia: two racetrack casinos, one stand-alone casino, and one hotel resort casino. Pennsylvania passed legislation in 2004 to allow slot machines at 14 locations in the state: seven racinos, five stand-alone casinos, and two hotel resorts.

Mini casinos[edit]

Philly Casino Parties ™ offers a wide variety of gaming tables from blackjack to poker, roulette, craps, money wheels, and even slot machines. Our staff are all professional dealers and we even provide a pit boss at no additional charge to help coordinate the entire event.

In early 2018 auctions began for licenses of Category 4 mini casinos, otherwise known as satellite casinos. Although ten licenses were available, only five were sold. The following mini-casinos are planned or under construction:^[4]
